We believe in the Scriptures of the Old & New Testaments as verbally inspired by God and inerrant in the original writing, and that they are of supreme and final authority in faith and life.
We believe in one God, eternally existing in three Persons: Father, Son and Holy Spirit.
We believe that Jesus Christ was begotten by the Holy Spirit, born of the Virgin Mary, and is true God and true man.
We believe that man was created in the image of God; that man sinned, and thereby incurred, not only physical death but spiritual death, which is separation from God; that, as a result of this sin first committed by Adam, all human beings are born with a sinful nature, and, in the case of those who reach moral responsibility, are accountable as sinners in thought, word and deed.
We believe that the Lord Jesus Christ died for our sins, according to the Scriptures, as a representative and substitutionary sacrifice; and that all who believe in Him are justified on the ground of His shed blood.
We believe in the resurrection of the crucified body of our Lord, in His ascension into Heaven, and in His present life there for us, as High Priest and Advocate.
We believe in “that blessed hope,” the personal and imminent return of our Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ.
We believe that all who receive by faith the Lord Jesus Christ are born again of the Holy Spirit, and only thereby become children of God. We further believe that the Christian life is exemplary of the teachings found in the New Testament as the Holy Spirit reproduces the life of Jesus Christ in and through each obedient believer.
We believe in the bodily resurrection of the just and the unjust, the everlasting blessedness of the saved, and the everlasting punishment of the lost.
We believe salvation is a gift of God through faith in His only begotten Son, Jesus Christ.
Thank you for your prayers and support of Acadian Baptist Center over the years. As many of you know, my wife Shannon is a registered nurse and contracted COVID-19 back in March. She was pretty sick but didn’t require hospitalization and has had a good recovery and has returned to work. I had to quarantine for two weeks and thankfully never developed symptoms and am back at ABC. We are extremely grateful and humbled that God has brought us through this ordeal.
Another ordeal many businesses and almost all camp and retreat centers are facing is the cancelation of at least 2 months of retreats and possibly more. We have cut all of our expenses down to the minimum and are concentrating on keeping up the facilities and finishing the worship center. ABC receives close to 80% of our budget from camps and retreats. We are trusting God to see us through this pandemic. Because of your relationship with ABC, I am asking you to consider a one-time gift or monthly pledge to help us get past this time in our history.
I remember how in 2005 after Katrina, our board stepped out in faith to help people and closed the camp down for several months to minister to those affected. God blessed us with donations to fill the gap. God has used ABC to reach many for Christ, including close to 10,000 salvations since its beginning in 1975. It is our prayer that God will use this world crisis to bring many to a saving relationship with Him. If you feel led to give, you can mail a check to ABC or give though abccamp.com or our Facebook page (facebook.com/abccamp). Most importantly lift ABC in prayer as we continue to serve Him together.
May the God of hope fill you with all joy and peace as you trust in Him, so that you may overflow with hope by the power of the Holy Spirit. – Romans 15:13
James Newsom, Director Acadian Baptist Center
ABC this past year had over 10,000 children, youth, women, and men step onto the grounds desiring God’s Spirit to touch their lives in a special way. These dear souls have attended Spark and Fuego camps, ACTS retreats, couples’, men’s, father and son, and women’s retreats, Campers On Mission and SOWER weeks, and many other events.
